My Virtual Audience

I have devoured nine seasons of the Real Housewives of Atlanta over the past few months, so my virtual audience is represented with gifs from iconic moments in the show that I thought of reading through Pullman’s writings.

For the enthusiasts, I thought of people who perpetually positive, highly confident and are going to hype me up for whatever I have going on in my own life. This person tells me I’m gonna slay something or I’m looking chic or fierce or whatever positive encouragement to help me feel more confident.

However, like Pullman said, sometimes you need more than just a good pep talk. Sometimes you need a skeptic to ask the hard questions or point out the possible holes in something. This person wants links to where you found information. This person will google things that may sound fishy in the middle of a conversation and put them on the table right there. This person wants screenshots, browser history, whatever hard evidence to believe the argument. This person is not afraid to check someone – as in curb or restrain. I am sometimes a little too enthusiastic and a tad bit naive, so having a skeptic in a virtual audience is helpful.

For Pullman’s White-gloved Perfectionist, I thought of someone who in my own virtual audience would be very detail oriented and also concerned with what is and what is not proper or appropriate. This person is choosy with their words and how they conduct themselves. This person values an outward appearance of elegance and class above all things, and this person expects the same in return.

For Pullman’s Conditioning Coach / Music Teacher persona, I thought of someone who feels very confident in their abilities and seeks to share them with others. I thought of someone well put together who expects others to want to aspire to their level. For the sake of my own virtual audience, I think my coach would be a little shady, just for good humor.
